The terms uses in the properties of each movement are described here. For any movement the collection of properties will uniquely identify that movement. No two movements will have the same properties unless they are the same movement in two different libraries.

 

Name

The movement name is chosen by the person entering the movement. While it is not necessary for this to be unique, it is chosen to be descriptive but need not contain any of the other properties, such as number of tables. {optional}

 

Movement type

The possible pairs movement types are:

Description

This is full description of how the movement works, is organised by the director and the procedures of the players and boards. {optional}

 

Tables

The number of tables in the movement

 

Rounds

The number of rounds in the movement

 

Winners

The number of winner, 1 or 2

 

Boards Per Set

The default number of boards per set.

 

Movement Class

This is either individuals or pairs

 

Players

The number of individuals or pairs in the movement, depending on the class.

 

Sets

The number of board sets in the movement.

 

Reference

The book or other source of the movement. {optional}

 

Page

The page or pages in the reference. {optional}

 

Balance

The movement balance can be one of the following:

 

Best but only with rounds switched

Best available with switching

Best available with no switching

Not balanced
