Willem,

Our computer crashed in the middle of a session recently, and I was unsure how to continue after restarting it. I tried to follow the instructions in the manual but was unable to work out exactly which steps were relevant to my situation ("synchronize", "update", etc).

Would you be able to summarise for me a basic procedure listing all the steps we need to follow after a PC crash?

Thanks,
brad

Hi Brad

All the scores and movements are still in the Table Top Units and in the BM-server: so don't panic :-)

Actualy you don't have to do anything special. Just
- restart your PC,
- reopen ASE,
- go to 3Scores and click on the Bridgemate button,
- chose Advanced
- tick re-read
- click om Start (Bridgemate program)

ASE will now reopen the Bridgemate Pro Control and re-read all the entered scores (if needed).

In other words: you don't have to do anything in BMP-Control because nothing was changed in the database.

The reason why this is not in the manual is that all scoring programs are different. Some of them re-establish the connection automaticly (Magic Contest, NBB-R) and some are a bit more complicated (ASE).

Good luck

Willem
