Is it possible to use bridgemates/Ase8 to score 2 concurrent events, each event having 2 sections, using only 1 bridgemate server?

Sorry I missed this posting.

Say you are wanting three concurrent events so:
Create a new event at the start of the session with 3 sections
"A" "B" and "C". This new event is a dummy, just describing the session in terms of the sections needed for the three events. The event types must all be the same (eg all pairs).

Start up bridge mate with autostart

Then go to event 1 and create new session (may be session 2 or 3 depending on the needs) Call the section "A". Same for event 2 "B" and event 3 "C".

Then go to Bridgemate screen in ASE and select and tick the option "Use single database for this session" (and select the file that is still running in BM) from the combined sessions.

Then each time you open the events 1/2/3 it will ask "read scores
yes/no?". Say yes and it will read the scores for its section from the open Bridgemate file, ignoring the other sections.
The ability to open files [file]....select recent files....will help here for switching events.

When you re-open an event the last opened session is the same so the
scores will be read into that session.

Thanks Ian,
I'm not quite sure that I understand you. I understand that I can score 3 events each with 1 section, but can I have more than one section in each of my events? Can I score 3 events each with 2 sections?

Fearghal.

Multi-sections per event are no problem.
The sections are identified by the letter assigned to the section.
eg event 1 sections "A" and "B"
event 2 sections "D" and "F"
event 3 sections "E" and "G"

The dummy event you set up at the start has 6 sections: A,B,E,D,F,G that match the properties respectively.

If you need to change a section after the start, change it in the dummy event first, then from the Bridgemate advanced option use the "update from round" option (only changing the section(s) applicable when prompted). Then change the section in the "real" event to match (using Replace section option), but no other action is needed.
