Hi All,
On a related note to the fert defence question, and in particular hoping for a response from PHM (with reference to the old days) but also anyone else with an opinion ...
Against organised and decent opposition, how often were you theoretically in trouble after having opened a fert, and of those times, how often did they actually manage to get you.
Anyone who's played a lot against them feel free to answer the same question from the opposite perspective.
I think honest answers to this question probably indicate what one should try and do with a Fert defence, i.e. concentrate on contructive bidding and only catch them by accident, OR, actually have a go at them, whether by sheer belligerence or in a somewhat more structured way.
As you know from my earlier post, I (historically) favoured the latter approach, but it would be interesting if this has practical support.
