How do I "finalise" an eclectic event ready for transmission as an ABF masterpoint file.

An eclectic event is produced by combining sesion results from one or more finalized events. As such it is not possible to finalize an eclectic event. Therefore the procedure for masterpointing an eclectic event is different from other events which are masterpointed prior to finalizing.

To masterpont an eclectic event see [eclectic] events, choose the event, [View results], [view totals], [masterpoint] and set the options as required and select [export], choosing the name of the file where you want to place the results.

To simplify the management of the masterpoint file produced in this way, in the [save] dialogue select "all files" and name the file something appropriate like "eventname.grn" for green points. (Use 'red' and gld' if appropriate).

Use this file in the same way you can use any masterpoint file for single events. They can be sent to the state masterpoint secretary for endorcement or the ABF if inclusion. More normal would be to combine them with your club returns at end of month. Use the program MPFiles.exe to manage masterpoint files. Placing your month end and the eclectic MP files in the same location use [locate] in MPfiles to select that folder. Tick the two files and click [merge] to combine the two files. If you like, name the file the same as your month end file so the end result will be one file of the same name.

Send that combined file as usual to the ABF.
