Dynamic SQL errors when finalising

I am getting a "Dynamic SQL error" every time I finalise an event in ASE 8. The event appears to get finalised, but ASE crashes and I have to exit and restart it.

I first got this with SP 69, when the error message read "SQL error code=-804 : Count of read-write columns does not equal count of values." So I installed SP 72 and now get "SQL error code= -104 : Token unknown - line 28, char 1."

Can you advise how I should get rid of this problem?

There were changes made in service pack 71 and 72 that require you to rescore the events before finalizing.
It is important you read the Service pack details before you apply them.
The SP release notes are below, in particular see the note at the end:

Corrections

1 Finalizing a teams event caused an error
2 In pairs ratings reports the name was prefixed by the direction (NS or EW)
3 Eclectic masterpoints had incorrect member numbers
4 Eclectic Masterpoint calculations would fail sometimes.

Note it may be necessary to re-score some events before finalizing otherwise an error may occur.
