We had this problem the last time we ran one of the these events - we reported it and it was fixed in a subsequent service pack but it has reared its head again . We are currently on SP84.

With a 15 table movement we instructed the players to move before entering their player numbers into the bridgemates. ie Ew Pair 15 to T2, EW 14 to T1, NS 1 to T3 etc.

The BMPro program was started and the the ABf numbers of the players physically sitting at the tables were then entered.

Instead of getting the correct teams The EW players from T15 were mated with T1 NS, Ew T1 were mated with NS T2, EW T2 with NS T3 etc.

Apart from the names issue, everything else proceed OK.

Very strange.
It works fine for me but I am using BridgePads, and the player names appear on the screens. I will get Willem to test this.

I was unable to produce an American Whist Team movement for 15 tables, but in the New England movement it went wrong too:
Where
1NS should meet 14EW, ASE8 showed 3EW
2NS should meet 15EW, ASE8 showed 4EW
3NS should meet 1EW, ASE8 showed 5EW
etc.

Can you please send the BWS-file of that session to support@bridgemate.com.au so I can see where it went wrong.

With all Bridgemate related questions it is always wise to include the BWS-file or send it separately to the email address shown above. Alternatively you can use the Support Service page on the website http://www.bridgemate.com.au/support_service.html where you can include all relevant files.

Just received the files from Mandurah and indeed the names are processed wrong by ASE8.

In Bridgemate's BWS-file the numbers are recorded correctly:
1 N: 774235
1 S: 553824
1 E: 722170
1 W: 688134

In ASE8 it shows however
1 N: 774235
1 S: 553824
1 E: 742414
1 W: 742422
(The EW numbers are from team 3)

Please check why ASE8 process them on this way?

This still puzzling. What you say is correct.
BUT the event you sent me is corrupted in some way.
Internally it seems to be a 16 table event.
I created a 15 table teams event, as I assume you did, and used your bws file of names and scores and the names are right.
Try creating a new 15 table event and use the bws file as I did to see if you get the right results (use [advanced][open existing database]).

Doing that worked - the correct team member names were loaded.

The file was originally set up as a 16 Table New England Relay but when one of the teams did not turn up we used the Section > Replace option to change it to the 15 T American Whist (Before the Bridgemates had been activated - they were now activated until the EW players had moved to start Round 1)

I guess this was what must have caused the problem.

To be on the safe side in future we will always use File > New if we need to change the movement for a teams event.

Thanks for explaining the situation.
I will check that out and correct it.

Does this means it is not possible to update the movement during the first round but you always have to start from scratch?

until it is fixed and only applies to teams events.
