Organisers frequently would like to produce a pairs event from a teams event so they can publish pairs datums. The option [file][make pairs event] will produce a pairs event from the current session of the teams event you have open at the time. Where you would like to accumulate the results over several sessions use the "import a session" option.

Run session 1 of the teams event.
Make sure the names of the players in the teams event are assigned correctly - players 1 and 2 are N-S while 3 and 4 are E-W in the pairs event.
[make pairs event] and save the pairs event under a new name (say pairs1.ase). Click [names][link names] and the outright field is established.
Score up using the required options.

Run session 2 of the teams event.
[make pairs event] and save the pairs event under a new name (say pairs2.ase)
Open pairs1.ase again and use [session][import session] and select pairs2.ase. The pairs1 event now has 2 sessions.
Click [names][link names] and the outright field numbers are assigned to the pairs in session 2.
Score up the and report.
If the N-S and E-W pairs are always in those seats make sure you use "2" winners in the outright options of the score up.

A few points.

When you create the Butler event, I think it's best to key event numbers via Names - F7.
I add 100 to all EW pairs. If Team 1 is playing 11 in round 1, I key event numbers at table 1 as 1 v 111. Naturallly T11 has 11 v 101.
This makes the results more meaningful to players.

I always score as 1 winner, even if I'm confident pairs won't change direction. Easy to recognise the EW pairs on the report and can still award 2 prizes if you wish.

Triangles are a problem. I always run Matt's triangle (Matt calls it Ed's triangle) so all tables use datum sheets or bridgemates. No extra boards, scores always current, no excessive swings from wild triangle boards, etc.

If your triangle is over one round, the Butler works okay. If it's over 2 rounds, Butler is very messy and I don't bother.

Long triangles are poor in ASE, which assumes that the 2nd half of the triangle is the same as the first. It would be nice if the second half were normal, or if director could manually change lineups via Data entry - EW pair, but that is greyed out.

I understand this enhancement would require a deal of work.

No such option, maybe because 30 day trial?

Yes SP86 or later is required.

I got the option now but when linking names it calculates in a weird way. In session 1 a pair has 18 VP, in session 2 has 14 VP both results come OK in reports when calculated separately, but when names linked that pair scores 11+14=25, not sure what could be the problem.

I would check the outright pair numbers are linked correctly.
Is a pair in there twice?
